This was a very light year for me as far as dramas go. I only watched 10 full dramas (one of which was a two part special) and 4 episodes of another (included for the crack), far fewer than I did the first two years I watched them. We are now to the point where we are focusing more on the things that make me shy away from kdramas: love square, evil parents, public announcement of relationship to wrong girl, crushing of secondary hero, drawn out angst and melodrama, etc. The things kdrama fans live for, but that make me twitchy ( Read more... )

So, despite the fact that this has all the things about kdramas that annoy me...the love square, the drawn out angst, being manipulated into hating the other girl, evil parents, etc., I really like this. Spring Waltz is one of those Korean melodramas that I'm ever so picky about, but for some reason, seem to have a fair number of on hand.  This one I have on hand because I have a near appalling weakness for anyone who was in Damo or Emperor of the Sea.
